Put on your Party Dress…The LBD ( Little Black Dress of course!)

Do you know you’re never too young or too old to wear a little black dress?

It’s true…The LBD is one dress that’s always on trend, definitely a first choice, and always a reliable BFF! Think of it as a blank canvas on which you can place just about anything and it will shine! Seriously…a black dress goes with everything and carries you through every season, party and wedding. Besides, the little black dress never goes out of style!

The holidays are here and what better time than now to wear your LBD? The best part is no one notices it’s the same dress, (even if you wear it several times in a row). Simply change up your jewelry and add fresh accessories for a modern approach. Think mixed metals or a fringe metal  necklace. Be modern and slip a simple white sequined skirt over it or pair shiny tights under it! It can be dressed up or down as the occasion or season warrants.

Recently, I spotted several black dresses in the window at Chico’s, Washington Square. Manager, Connie Farah, told me on the QT…”that for the holidays, the LBD dress should be your showpiece item to wear from day to evening.” LBD’s vary in length (mini, midi to full length), others are designed with a daring shoulder, some with a low draped peek-a-boo back, and others sleeveless with a jewel neck.

Simply versatile; try slipping a sheer white blouse over (feel free to add a belt or tie around waist), or add a wrapped cashmere scarf around shoulders. Dress it up with a shiny Moto jacket, add sparkling ears, trendy choker necklace and don’t forget your daring stilettos.

Holiday Party: Consider choosing a mix of colors: Siren red coat or cape, rhinestone earrings paired with  black leather caged heels, and small black clutch.

Hit The Town: Stick with a smart black and white combo:  White sweater with fur collar, rhinestone sparkles on ears, neck, and wrist candy, beaded clutch and black dressy ankle bootie.

Rock it: Leather or Denim jacket, several layered necklaces, over-the-knee suede boots, suede cross-body bag, BoHo Hat with soft brim. So Bo-Ho-Chic!!!

The Next Big Thing: Leopard faux fur coat, Gold accessories, Gold fringe necklace, Gold high heeled pumps. So hot…so right!

I call the LBD a “wardrobe workhorse” as it elevates everything in your closet. It has clean lines, yet is classic, simple and versatile.

Tip: If you already have one in your closet that you love, “use it” and you won’t go broke buying one. Just think…more money for accessories!

Tip: White ankle go-go-boots…honestly…they are on-trend and look smashing with a black dress.

TIP: Be sure to carry sweet packable flats for later, when your dogs are barking!

You are now officially and totally LBD ready for “Christmas and New Years… Cheers!”
