Love at First Visit! – Brasada Ranch in Bend, Oregon

Love at First Visit!  Brasada Ranch in Bend, Oregon

My husband Darren and I recently stayed at the Brasada Ranch in Bend, Oregon for my birthday and fell in love with everything about it. If all I tell you is that Condé Nast Traveler named Brasada the Best Resort in the Pacific Northwest three years in a row, I’d still be selling it short. Instead, let me help you experience this luxurious ranch-style resort in advance through my eyes.

Ranch House

First, the curb appeal of the Ranch House alone is worth the stay. As you walk up to the door, you already realize you’re going to have a first-rate experience. The pool, outdoor seating, and fire pit against the backdrop of Central Oregon’s high desert and the Cascade Mountain range from Mt. Bachelor to Mt. Hood are breathtaking. The interior did not disappoint. From stunning views, to a fireplace in the bedroom, you really can’t pick a bad suite. The upstairs suites have private balconies and soaking tubs, and the lower suites have access to the private terrace and fire pit – but I’ll get to that later.

Sage Canyon Cabins

If you need a little more room than a suite, the Sage Canyon Cabins offer an exclusive experience for a couple on a romantic getaway or for a full family. The bedrooms boast en suite bathrooms for added comfort and privacy. Plus, the luxurious master bedroom has a separate soaking tub and shower. We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin with a golf course view and private wrap-around deck with hot tub, the perfect place for enjoying the sunrise and an early morning cup of coffee. Some cabins even allow pets!

The Most Relaxing Amenities

There are plenty of restaurants in the local area, but you may find yourself drawn back to Brasada’s Range Restaurant & Bar over and over again for sumptuous farm-to-table meals and panoramic views of the Cascade Peaks, including the Three Sisters, Broken Top, and Mt. Jefferson. Whether you chose to dine at the resort’s Range Restaurant or Ranch House, both offer indoor and outdoor dining. Savor your meal in the fresh mountain air by day, or have a drink by the fire on a cool evening. The perfect setting to wish upon a star!

I’ve already mentioned the private fire pit area, but it is also worth noting that it is surrounded by about 16 comfortable Adirondack chairs, making this the perfect place to enjoy the evening air near the warm fire and maybe even make some new friends by meeting other travelers.

If you want to spend some time in the sun, the pools at the resort’s 17,000 sq ft Athletic Center offer a great experience for kids and grown-ups alike. Between the dozens of lounge chairs (so you are sure to find a seat), the massive pool slide, waterfall, lazy river and five outdoor hot-tubs, there is something for everyone.

If you enjoy golfing, don’t forget to bring your clubs. The Brasada Canyon Golf Course designed by Native Oregonian Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy offers stunning mountain views as you play through 18. This members and resort guests only course offers you peacefulness with plenty of privacy. Brasada’s golf course is undeniably one of Oregon’s most beautiful courses.

Spa Brasada may end up being your favorite part of the resort if you really want to pamper yourself. From massages to pedicures, it’s the ultimate spa experience if you want to feel the stress of normal day-to-day life just melt away. The experience is made complete with your own plush robe, slippers, choice of music, favorite scent and Brasada’s signature lavender honey shortbread spa cookies. Rest assured you’ll leave feeling completely renewed.

If you have slightly more eclectic tastes and want to enjoy some beautiful architecture, don’t miss the Brasada Barn or the old trestle bridge. It’s the perfect place to watch the sunset with a loved one.
